Identify your training objectives

Each course we run has differing objectives depending upon the delegates' and the organisational objectives. Brenscombe can help to research and identify these needs, making the programme effective and valuable to your organization and the individuals.

Programme Design

We will consider the delegates, the objectives, the venue and your budget. This is achieved by developing business relationships, visiting your working environment and meeting those attending the course. Once we have a full understanding of your requirements, we will design a programme that will match them completely.

Programme Delivery

We can deliver the entire programme using our training and technical staff alongside extensive production and project resources. Alternatively, we can work in conjunction with your tutors and suppliers to provide the service you require.

Programme Evaluation

As part of our service, we will evaluate the programme and supply written summaries of all the issues raised during the course. Pre and post course attitudinal surveys can be organised to effectively measure changes within the delegates. Other techniques can also be applied. These can be combined with action plans and follow up sessions to aid the post course development stages and the implementation of the learning gained.

Challenge by Choice

Emphasis is put upon completion of the task whilst utilising team, management and personal skills to the maximum. Individuals will find themselves involved in a range of projects and they will always be in control of their level of input. No pressure will be put upon anyone to perform; only to commit to a successful result for the team.

Choice of Location

We can run events and training programmes at Brenscombe or other suitable locations around the country. In the past these have included hotels, conference centres, country parks, beaches, community halls, schools, camp sites and bunkhouses.

Outdoor

Programmes allow delegates to apply concepts studied within a course in a new and different environment. Using the outdoors as a training medium allows delegates to function away from workplace pressures. This enables people to concentrate on personal performance; improving and experimenting without the fear of failure.

Facilitation

Facilitation is used on all our courses, generating interactive feedback sessions. This enables delegates to learn from themselves, each other and the tutors. Review sessions are held after each exercise, helping delegates to understand the reactions to their actions and reasons for success or failure. These sessions enable the transfer of learning from the outdoors to the workplace to be rapid, thorough and successful.

Fun

We believe that learning should be enjoyable. Delegates will operate in an atmosphere of fun, support and challenge. This helps to develop the motivation to learn, enabling actions and outcomes to be effective and memorable.

Techniques & Models

We have a range of trainers with experience in a variety of models, techniques and training. Experiential learning is used on all our programmes as people learn by doing. Typically, groups spend time working on projects with time then spent reviewing their actions and considering future methods. Links are made to relevant theories and models where appropriate in order to reinforce the learning.

Support for Trainers

Our experienced technical staff, facilities and task are often used by other training firms such as Brathay. We also work in conjunction with firms using their own training department, using our services to supplement their training programmes. Tasks and projects can be designed to highlight course objectives.

Indoor & Outdoor

Training programmes can be designed to use the outdoors. We also run experiential programmes using our challenge tasks at indoor venues including our own covered areas, conference rooms and syndicate areas.
